Can I drive after local anesthesia?
If you had only local anesthesia, you can drive. Local anesthesia affects sensation around the mouth and does not impair judgment or motor ability. The numb feeling in the lip and cheek usually returns within 2 to 3 hours. However, if you had sedation (conscious sedation), the medication can linger all day, so you must not drive at all and must go home with a companion.
