Why is a facial scan taken?

A facial scan is imaging that lets us design a restoration in harmony with your whole face, not just the inside of your mouth. It records in 3D the line of your lips when you smile, how much of the teeth show, and the balance with your facial midline, and we use that to decide the shape and length of front tooth restorations and esthetic treatment. It is especially useful for planning a natural result when several front teeth are treated together. The scan takes only a few minutes and involves no radiation, so there is nothing to worry about.
