A lot of food gets caught in the space near my gum. Can it be filled in?

It depends on the size of the space and the cause, but we do not recommend simply filling it with resin. Forcing a filling in creates a ledge, which can trap even more food and bacteria and worsen gum inflammation. Usually 1) managing it with an interdental brush and a water flosser is the basis, 2) if the space is large or the shape of the restoration is the cause, the crown is remade, and 3) if gum inflammation is the cause, gum treatment comes first. We will identify the cause at an examination and recommend the right approach, so please come in.
