Precautions
How much exercise can I do after surgery? (golf, swimming, hiking, tennis, badminton and so on)
It depends on the type of surgery. 1) After a simple procedure such as an extraction, rest from vigorous exercise for 2 to 3 days; 2) after major surgery such as an implant or a bone graft, for about a week - during that time keep to light walking. Activities that raise blood pressure, such as golf, tennis, hiking, and badminton, can interfere with clotting and increase swelling. 3) Swimming carries a risk of infection through the water, so we recommend starting after the stitches are out. However, if bleeding or swelling returns after exercise, stop and come in.
