After a sinus lift I have watery discharge from my nose. Is that all right?
Yes. For a few days after a sinus lift, blood or saline that collected during surgery can come out mixed with nasal discharge - a normal reaction that usually subsides within 2 to 3 days. Blowing your nose during this period raises the pressure in the sinus and can scatter the grafted bone or damage the membrane, so never blow your nose; just wipe what runs out. Sneeze with your mouth open. However, if bleeding or foul-smelling discharge lasts more than a week, please come in.
