The teeth on the other side have hurt since my implant crown was fitted.

If the habit of chewing only on the other side continues through the treatment period, those teeth and the jaw muscles become overloaded and can hurt. Once the new crown is in place, practise chewing evenly on both sides. It usually settles within 1 to 2 weeks and the pain subsides. However, if the pain on the other side continues or that tooth twinges every time you chew, it may have a crack or a cavity of its own, so have it examined.
