Is MTA root canal treatment better than ordinary root canal treatment?

MTA is a root canal material with good biocompatibility and sealing ability, but it is not needed for every root canal treatment. We mainly consider it 1) when inflammation at the root tip is extensive and a conventional filling material cannot seal it well, 2) when there is a perforation in the tooth root, and 3) in a child's tooth whose root has not finished developing. Ordinary root canal treatment can be completed perfectly well with conventional materials, and whether to use MTA is decided after diagnosing the condition of the tooth. Recently a variety of materials containing some MTA have been developed and their use is steadily increasing. MTA is a non-covered item so it adds to the cost - have a diagnosis first and discuss which material suits you.
