Can I go to a dental clinic to have tonsil stones removed?

Removing tonsil stones falls within ENT care. The tonsils sit deep on both sides of the throat, beyond the range of dental treatment, and an ENT clinic can remove them by suction or, for recurring cases, treat them definitively with a tonsillectomy. That said, among people who suspect tonsil stones because of bad breath, the real cause is often tongue coating, tartar, or gum disease. We suggest 1) a dental examination first if bad breath is the main symptom, and 2) an ENT clinic if you feel something in your throat or cough up yellow granules.
