Is high-fluoride toothpaste better?

If cavity prevention is your goal, a toothpaste with a fluoride concentration of 1,000 ppm or higher is effective. Toothpaste sold in Korea is permitted up to 1,500 ppm of fluoride. High-fluoride toothpaste is especially recommended for 1) people who get cavities often, 2) people undergoing orthodontic treatment, and 3) people whose mouths often feel dry. However, children under 6 may swallow toothpaste, so use only a small amount, from the size of a grain of rice up to a pea, and practice spitting it out with them.
