Do upper and lower wisdom teeth have to be removed together? Can both lower ones be done at once?

They do not have to be removed together, but we usually recommend taking out the upper and lower teeth on the same side at one visit so you can eat on the other side. Removing both lower wisdom teeth at once makes eating very difficult for several days and makes swelling and pain harder to manage. That said, 1) if you want it all finished in one session under sedation, or 2) if it is hard for you to come in often, extraction on both sides may be considered depending on your condition, so please mention it at your consultation.
