Why does wisdom tooth extraction cost differ from clinic to clinic?

Wisdom tooth extraction is covered by the National Health Insurance, so for the same level of difficulty the basic fee is the same at any clinic. Differences come from 1) the difficulty classification based on how impacted the tooth is (simple, difficult, or impacted extraction), 2) whether additional imaging such as a CT is taken, and 3) surcharges for evening or holiday hours. Even for a deeply impacted wisdom tooth, the insured co-payment is usually in the tens of thousands of won. However, the exact cost depends on the position of the tooth and its distance from the nerve canal, so we can tell you after an X-ray.
