Implant
I have implants. Can I have an MRI scan?
Yes, it is safe. The titanium used in implants is non-magnetic, so MRI scans are safe and the implant does not affect your results. CT and X-ray scans are also fine. One note: if the scan covers the jaw area, the image right around the metal can be slightly distorted (artifacts), so let the radiology team know you have implants before a head-and-neck MRI.
