Denture

What foods should I avoid during the denture adaptation period?

During the adjustment period, it is best to avoid the following foods: 1) Sticky foods such as gum, rice cakes, and taffy — they can lift the denture and pull it out. 2) Hard, chewy foods such as ribs, dried squid, and nuts — they cause gum pain and sores. 3) Biting into something like a whole apple with your front teeth — that motion pries the denture up like a lever. For the first 2-4 weeks, stick to soft foods such as porridge, steamed egg, and fish, cut into small pieces, and gradually expand your diet from there.
