What types of orthodontic treatment are there?

There are broadly five types of orthodontic appliances. 1) Metal braces — the most common and most affordable, 2) ceramic braces — tooth-colored brackets that are less noticeable, 3) Clippy-C (self-ligating) — a design that reduces wire friction, 4) clear aligners (such as Invisalign) — removable transparent appliances, and 5) lingual braces — attached to the inner surface of the teeth so they aren't visible from the outside.
