I have wisdom teeth. Can I still get orthodontic treatment?

Yes, orthodontic treatment is possible even if you have wisdom teeth. However, if the wisdom teeth interfere with tooth movement or space is needed to move the molars backward, they are extracted before or during treatment. On the other hand, wisdom teeth that have erupted straight and function normally are sometimes left in place. Whether and when to extract is decided after a detailed diagnosis including a panoramic X-ray, so we recommend not having them removed in advance and instead planning together at your orthodontic consultation.
