Digital orthodontics is a method in which your teeth are precisely scanned with a 3D intraoral scanner, the treatment outcome is simulated in advance, and customized appliances are made from that data. The differences from conventional orthodontics are 1) scanning replaces the sticky impression material, which is more comfortable, and 2) you can preview the tooth-movement plan on screen. However, the underlying principle of moving teeth is the same, and the digital approach is not suitable for every case, so it is best to decide which method fits you after a diagnosis.
