Why does bleeding occur during cavity treatment?

Bleeding that occurs when removing a cavity is mainly caused by ① a deep cavity exposing the pulp, the nerve and blood vessel tissue inside the tooth, or ② treatment instruments touching or irritating the gums. If the gums are inflamed, bleeding may occur more easily even with minor stimulation, so the condition of the gums is checked before and after treatment as well. However, the need for root canal treatment cannot be determined by bleeding alone. After checking where the bleeding occurred and the condition of the tooth, the attending dentist will guide you on the necessary treatment.
