How are front-tooth cavities treated?

Because the front teeth are highly visible, we use materials that closely match the natural tooth color. 1) If the cavity is small, we fill it with resin in a single visit. 2) If the cavity is large or the tooth shape is significantly damaged, we use a laminate (veneer) or ceramic crown. 3) If the decay has reached the nerve, we perform root canal treatment first and then place a crown. Cavities on front teeth often start between the teeth, where they are easy to miss from the outside, so if the area between your front teeth looks dark or shadowed, we recommend coming in for a check.
