Precautions
Can I eat hot food after an extraction?
Avoid hot food on the day of the extraction. Hot food dilates the blood vessels, which interferes with clotting and can restart bleeding. 1) On the day and the next day, have lukewarm or cold soft foods such as porridge and yogurt, and 2) from day 2 or 3 you can gradually return to a normal, non-irritating diet. Spicy and hot food and alcohol are best avoided for 2 to 3 days even after the bleeding has stopped, as that helps recovery.
