Implant

I feel especially painful at night right after implant surgery. Is there a reason?

It's fairly common for pain to feel worse at night right after surgery. 1) If your evening medication has worn off, take an additional dose of pain reliever at the prescribed interval, and 2) lying down causes blood to pool toward your head, which can intensify the throbbing, so it helps to elevate your upper body with extra pillows when sleeping. Post-surgery pain usually subsides after 2 to 3 days. However, please visit us if the pain gets progressively worse after day 3 or if you develop a fever, as these may indicate inflammation.
