Is a front tooth implant different from a molar implant?

Yes, it is different. A front tooth is visible when you smile, so the gum line, the gum between the teeth (the interdental papilla), and the harmony of color and shape with the neighboring teeth all have to be matched. The bone in the front region is also thin, so a bone graft or gum graft is often needed as well, which can make treatment take longer than for a molar. During treatment we fit a temporary tooth or temporary denture so the gap is not visible. In many cases we can place the implant immediately on the day of extraction, take an impression, and even attach a temporary tooth, but whether that is possible depends on the condition of your bone and gums.
