Wisdom Tooth

Will my face swell a lot after wisdom tooth extraction?

It depends on how difficult the extraction is. Simple extractions cause almost no swelling, but impacted wisdom tooth extractions, which involve incising the gum or removing some bone, can cause swelling. Swelling usually peaks 2-3 days after extraction and mostly subsides within a week, and applying a cold compress during the first 48 hours helps reduce it. However, if the swelling gets worse after a week or is accompanied by pain or fever, there may be an infection, so please visit us.
