If my crown comes off, can it be re-cemented?

Yes, if the crown itself is not damaged and there is no decay on the underlying tooth, it can be re-cemented. Please do not throw away the dislodged crown — keep it and visit us within 1 to 2 days if possible. The tooth without its crown is weak and prone to fracture, and over time it can shift so that the crown no longer fits. However, if the underlying tooth is decayed or fractured, re-cementation may not be possible and a new crown may need to be made. Please never try to glue the crown back on yourself with super glue or similar adhesives, as this can seriously damage the tooth.
